I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaack!!!

WOW!! I have been MIA for quite some time!! I started a new full time job and have been sadly missing my sewing and painting!! Tis the season to get right back in the swing of things!!   I am getting ready to post more of my blacken bees wax on Etsy.  I have made a few of my own santas molds and bought a great one as well.
this one is from Home Spun Heart on Etsy.  I love her molds
I made a mold from a santa candy mold ornament
I also made an "Old World Santa" that I absolutly LOVE!!  I am going to try to get the pattern made up before Christmas.

He's looooooooooooong and skinny!! I am now at a new location- The Collectors Eye in Stratham New Hampshire.  Check them out: http://www.collectorseye.com/CAP.html that is my little nook!!
Great time of year to go to the old barn if you leave close by!!!!!
And........................I have been making little snowman gourd ornies!!  They are so cute, they are made from small spinner gourds that are dried
What else? What else??...oh yeah....

My star Santa Tree topper!!  He is on a rusty bed spring and looks great on the top of the tree.  I am going to be listing all these items VERY soon on my etsy shop as soon as I get better pictures and get around to listing them!!!  I have a bunch of other goodies I am finishing up but I think that is ALOT for now don't you???

I went for the curtains....

Well, I decided to finish the curtians!!  I love the way they came out but the more I finish off that room......the more I am going to miss using it as my painting room.  As you can see I have a few tables drying there.  I have to move one of the out because hubby hates the smell of the new paint I am using!!!  I absolutly LOVE old village paint but it does have a little stink to it.  It is oil based and the only draw back it that it takes over 24 hours for the first coat to dry.....but the colonial colors are beautiful!!!!  I actually have 12 pieces of furniture that I have to paint up and get ready for my shop when we get back from our trip.  I am getting a bigger space at the shop so I can put all my furniture in it!!!

I am starting to get ready for the Christmas show I am doing in November.....I know I know, the mere mention of Christmas and it is still spring!!

Paint or Sew....Paint or sew...Paint or sew....

What to do....what to do???  I have to make curtains for our sitting room.....I also want to paint the 8 pieces of furniture I have for the shop....decisions decisions!!!  I think I'll do both.....while the sheepies are drying, I'll be sewing!!!!  Gotta love the farmers porch on a beautiful day for painting!!!!  I think I need a bigger space at the shop!!   I would love to put all those pieces in my space but they won't fit.  I'll take a more pics when I have finished them.

I just found my favorite paint!!!  The only problem is it takes 24 hours to dry!!!!  But when it does....it is beautiful!! I love love love all the colonial colors it come in.  I have already painted some of my pieces the undercoat of black, now to put on the mustard color on top.  Then I am going to try my hand at make them look primitive and shabby.....we'll see how that goes!!!

Another bench finished....

Just finished another bench...very simple but I love it!  Brought it into the shop today....I got a bunch of little furniture today to paint up.  I love dry sinks, and picked one up today.  I'll get a before and after shot up soon.  I also got an adorable old tilted black table.  Not sure what I am going to paint on it yet.  I am starting to think of the Holliston craft fair in November.....time to get started on my stock!!

What am I going to do when Hubby finishes the floor????

I love this room.....for painting!!!!  What am I going to do when he finally gets around to finishing it??  Talk about the perfect floor to do my painting....If you look closely, under my plastic paint bin....oops!  Had a BIG spill of black paint! No worries, THE FLOOR ISN'T FINISHED!!  I will have to be VERY careful when the floor gets finsihed...bummer!!!

Anyway this is the latest piece I am working on, I want to have it done by Monday to bring into the shop!
I'll post the finished pic this weekend......off to baseball!!!!

Here is how it all starts....

I go to an antique shop, or another fav shop and I pick up a few things.....I don't know what I am going to do with them, but I know I can incorporate them into something....I see a pineapple or crow on the antique bunt tin...now the others???Lets just say I havn't done a prim mother nature piece and I have got some ideas.  I refuse to add them to my "I-know-I-can-use-this" pile!  At least with furniture, I HAVE to get it out of the house fast....I don't have the room for all the pieces I paint!!

So I guess I am just going to say....watch this space, I am actually in the mood to design!!!!

Hello, and welcome to my new blog! I am a primitive/folk artist in the beautiful state of New Hampshire. I fell in love with all things primitive/folk art years ago and have not looked back. I sculpt, paint, embroider, sew ,design, needle punch, rug hook, needle felt....you name it, I probably tried it!!

Although I have been creating primitive/folk art pieces for years, my actual business started on Ebay waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2004 when I sold my very first primitive stitchery! I was more thrilled that someone was actually willing to buy something that I designed and made myself!! I only wish I kept a picture of it. It was very simple “Bless this home oh Lord I pray, keep it safe by night and Day” in very primitive lettering with a homespun border. I got my very first positive feedback and I was thrilled!! I don't sell on Ebay anymore...THEIR FEES ARE TOO HIGH!!! I now showcase my items on Etsy....my id is crowaboutprimitives, if you want to go have a peek.

Right now I have a space in a shop. I specialize in hand painted folk art furniture. Here is a slide show of my favorite pieces!!

Over the next few days, I will be finishing up some blacken beeswax items that I will share. You can see quite a few of my items on www.Etsy.com, just click on any of the images on the sides and it will take you to my shop.........come and have a peek!!!!
